QUIÉNES WE ARE
The Brazilian Network of Journalists and Science Communicators (RedeComCiência) is a non-partisan and non-profit association that brings together professionals interested in discussing and improving the quality of journalism and science communication in Brazil.
WHAT WE HAVE
We organize events, produce content and support the work of journalists, communication advisors and scientists interested in communicating science-related topics. At the same time, we encourage the exchange of information, ideas and opportunities between our members.
WHY WE HAVE
Covering the science area and its ramifications is a daily challenge. Much more than just translating a complex knowledge into an accessible language, the work of communicating science involves also understanding how each novelty, discovery
the advance impacts on the planet, the country, the society and the human being. In an increasingly complex world, science journalists play a key role in differentiating relevant information from interests, economics and personalities.
Professionals who work in newsrooms collaborate as a free-lance in journals, magazines, radio, TV, and internet covering and producing content in the different fields of science.
PROFESIONALES DE LA COMUNICACIÓN
Press agents, RRPP and other communication professionals from public and private institutions that are linked to the investigation or to any field of science.
Researchers and scientists interested in scientific dissemination in different ways.
Students interested in acting and specializing in the field of dissemination or scientific journalism.
Digital influencers responsible for science channels in their different strands.
There are many advantages of being a member of RedeComCiência. In addition to contributing to the strengthening of journalism and scientific dissemination in the country, you will have access to benefits, such as discounts, tools and useful services for the work.
"The journalist is not more of an intermediary, someone who only transmits information as a card or group of scientific people, as a mediator who reflects independently on the information and its consequences."
Carlos Henrique Fioravanti
Periodist, graduated at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) and postgraduated in communication and digital media at the Superior School of Advertising and Marketing (ESPM). Since 2001, he has worked as an editor at Revista Saúde, from the Abril editorial.
